Introduction
Welcome. Dahnwelt is my own D&D world. I've started to create it for several reasons. Firstly I've been looking for an outlet for my creative juices for a while. Secondly since a change in location, I've cut from at least two sessions of gaming a week to one, most weeks and I need to make up the shortfall somehow!
Rationale
Dahnwelt is influenced by a number of things (in no particular Order).
- Early Middle Ages/Holy Roman Empire. I quite like the idea of a getting a feel of princedoms and city states allied together against common threats, yet often scheming against local rivals.
- Terry Brooks Shanara books. Not in the sense of wanting to recreate Shanara particularly, but I did like the idea of a fantasy world emerging out of a thinly veiled apocalypse.
- Story driven adventure. In the sense of having a location where the characters are involved in the world. Less a location for a Dungeon, so much as the reason to go to the Dungeon in the first place.
- A different sort of Undead. I like the idea of having a different take on Undead. In Dahnwelt, the Undead are almost a race in themselves (though not a player race) populating entire cities and nations.
- A twist on what you know. I've tweaked nearly every race. I want them to be flavoured for Dahnwelt, and tied each of the races to one of the major religions. The only one I've left alone is the ever versatile Human.
Organization
The Dahnwelt information is divided in to several areas
- The World of Dahnwelt - A guide to all things Dahnwelt.
